We are connected more than ever through the internet and through a world that is becoming more mobile and global than ever before. Despite this, many of us feel alone and disconnected. At FUMC we believe that each of us is created with an inner desire to be connected with Christ. We also believe that hospitality and friendship is one of our strengths. First United Methodist Church provides various ways in which one can engage in a meaningful relationship with Christ and with others.
Worship
Our Sunday morning worship is a time to gather, learn, share, and worship God together.
Music
Our church loves music and we are blessed with many talented individuals who share their gifts on Sunday morning. Our hope is that we will have a variety of musical styles that you might connect with and that will further connect you with God. Our worship style might be best described as blended-traditional. We sing many traditional hymns with pipe organ accompaniment; but, we also include some more contemporary songs too. We have an active choir and bell choir, along with special music.
Youth
Our youth is focused on a relationship with Christ and one another. We focus on being the hands and feet of Jesus as we help the community and show Christ’s love.
Mission
Being servants like Christ is our goal. The early church was never about the church building. At FUMC we spread the gospel by our words and actions beyond our walls of the church.
Womens and Mens Groups
The Women's group is currently making blankets for the hospital among many other things.
The men's group gathers twice a month. One gathering is more social oriented while the other is more spiritual in its purpose.

Our Impact and Ministry of Compassion
We believe that God interacts in the world and reaches people in real and tangible ways. God's salvation is holistic! It is spiritual and physical. As Christians we are called to follow Christ's example by healing and taking care of others wherever we might go. We want to make a real impact in our city and we would like you to help us.
190+ Years of Presence
Established Church
Established in 1827. In our long History, First UMC was charged with the task of planting numerous UMC churches in East Liverpool. We have been a presence in our city for nearly 200 years. We would like to continue that partnership and be a part of the revitalization of East Liverpool.

Sometimes people probably drive by these big churches downtown and wonder if anyone is inside. We are currently worshipping 65 people a Sunday. We are growing and would like anyone and everyone to join us.

Get Involved
Matthew 9:35-38 says that, "When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into the harvest His field." God wants to partner with us in his ministry of compassion. Come join us as we minister to those who are struggling and hurting in this world!
